FERRARI FACTORY Fiorano

PROJECT

This project is based on concept of dynamics. The facades of the building consist of flowing lines superimposed, made up of bands designed to fulfil the main closing functions, crossover and filter of a typical industrial facade.
From a functionally point of view, the industrial complex includes the design centre, the production and testing activities at the wind tunnel of the Grand Prix race car, in two separate containers.
The dark shading sculptural perforated sunscreen protect the glass facade of the industrial areas and the upper part of the building is made by protective aluminum blades, placed in front of the windows facing to the offices and formally linked to the bands of protection of the plants under construction, above the existing buildings.
The sustainability strategy is based on the use of passive systems of protection of the facades, connected both to active generators of photovoltaic energy integrated in the coverage, and to geothermal energy in order to help the air conditioning and heating.
