CENTRO STORICO FIAT RENOVATION Turin

PROJECT

General project and contractor: Maire Tecnimont S.p.A.

The metal pavilion has been designed as an extension of an old industrial building located in what is now an urbanized area of Turin. The whole system will be used as the main exhibition centre for Fiat’s early models and the new pavilion will provide the space for a multi-functional room. This “metal box” is characterized by a three-dimensional façade built with sloping “wing-shaped panels” and by a system of long windows connecting them to each other. In this way, doubly reflected natural light will reach the interior of the building, increasing its smoothness and balancing its strength.
